Eins og margir Íslendingar trúi ég á tilvist álfa og huldufólks.

Þessi þjóðlega álfkona með silfurskúf og svuntu fæddist fullsköpuð haustið 2004.

Ég segi að hún hafi ,,vitjað mín” eins og álfkonan forðum sem birtist ömmu minni fyrir vestan.

Margar sögur eru til af samskiptum álfa og manna og yfirleitt fela þær í sér einhvern siðferðisboðskap um hófsemi, heiðarleika og hjálpsemi, en ekki minnst virðingu fyrir landsins gæðum.

Í gegnum aldirnar hefur álfaþjóðin verið einn máttugasti verndari náttúru landsins.

Megi ljós álfkonunnar minna á þessar huldu vættir sem bera hag íslenskrar náttúru fyrir brjósti.

THE HIDDEN WOMAN

Like many of my Icelandic fellow-countrymen, I believe in the existence of the “hidden woman” and of other hidden beings.   The idea of this hidden woman in her traditional Icelandic costume was born fully-formed in the fall of 2004.

She came to me in a dream, just like the hidden woman my grandmother met in the West Fjords, almost a century ago. Many stories tell of encounters between hidden people and humans and most of these stories bear a moral message.  We have a duty to be honest, moderate and helpful to others and, most importantly, should show respect for our country and Mother Nature. The hidden people have been the most powerful guardians of Icelandic nature through the ages.
